Fergie’s upcoming second album “Double Dutchess” got a major boost in hype thanks to the song “You Already Know” and its music video, both of which features rapper Nicki Minaj. The collaboration has been in the works for as far back as 2014 and an initial version of the song was played live during a concert in 2016. The music video is a black-and-white girl power affair where Fergie and Nicki show off looks upon looks, most striking among them being one where both stars where black and white suits while delivering killer rhymes. The video has a clean aesthetic which matches the will.i.am’s minimalist production.

The track is getting a lot of positive feedback and hype, in no small part due to the recently release music video accompanying the song. Fans took to social media to share their reactions.

Nicki’s fans have also embraced the new track as seen from this video shot at the M.A.C. pop-up store in New York where during an appearance, the rapper and a fan delivered an impromptu performance of her verse in the new track.

In a humorous turn of event, actor and writer Seth Rogen took to shared his delight on being mentioned in Nicki’s verse on the song.

Nicki reciprocated the twitter love sharing that she considers Seth her hero.

The will.i.am produced track will be featured on Fergie’s upcoming LP “Double Dutchess”, the follow-up to her 2006 solo debut “The Dutchess”. Fergie has already shared two tracks “Hungry” featuring rapper Rick Ross and “M.I.L.F. $” from the new album, which will be accompanied by a movie-length visuals for the entire album. The long-awaited album has faced a lot of hurdles and false starts, which includes “L.A. Love”, a 2014 track that failed to create impact. The project went in limbo only to be revived in 2016 by singles “M.I.L.F. $” and “Life Goes On”. The singer later shared her frustrations with her labels Interscope on their inability to drive interest in the release of the new album and left then in 2017 to sign a new deal with BMG. As per the new deal, Fergie will release the album through her own imprint Dutchess Music. This also caused tension between longtime friend and collaborator will.i.am since she left his imprint will.i.am Music Group along with Interscope. Statements from will.i.am caused news media outlets to report that Fergie has also left Black Eyed Peas. However, this was dismissed by both will.i.am and Fergie who clarified that the singer was still part of the band.

Fergie’s “Double Dutchess” is set to arrive on September 22 and will feature collaborations with YG, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, and Fergie’s son Axl Jack.
