If you were a fan of his Man on Fire and Training Day movies, then The Book of Eli is definitely not the one to miss. It takes place in a post apocalyptic world, where a lone warrior named Eli (Denzel Washington) must safely deliver a book which has the secret to saving humanity. During his journey he ends up in a dark and dilapidated town which is overseen by Carnegie (Gary Oldman). Carnegie gets to know about Eli’s book and wants it for his own personal gains. However Eli doesn’t want to give it up without a fight, so from this point onwards, action ensues. Pretty much a straight forward story with no major twists and turns. Some of you might even anticipate the climax before it happens, and this becomes a major turn off for the viewer. All said and done, it is a pretty decent action movie for all the guys to enjoy on a weekend.
