British chanteuse Rita Ora spoke about her upcoming single titled “Anywhere” during a live stream Q&A with fans for MTV’s European Music Awards (EMAs). The track will be released on 20th October alongside a music video which was shot in New York last week. Speaking more about “Anywhere”, Ora said “’Your Song’ was an amazing opener for just what I wanted to do as a musician…embracing where I grew up. The second single is about that period that I had in L.A. which really kinda got me down…and I felt a bit of stand-still.”
“So this single really represents the urge to break free from anything, which I think is very relevant to what we’ve been through this year as a city and a country this year. ”
The “I Will Never Let You Down” singer will be hosting the event as well as performing this year which will take place on 12 November. In the livestream, Ora said that she would be involved in the creative direction of the show as well which would be a celebration of British artists, current and past. The livestream took place from London Eye, the observational wheel which allows passengers to get a bird’s eye view of London city.
Last year, Rita Ora signed to Atlantic Records after an acrimonious split from Roc Nation, the label that launched her. In her lawsuit against Roc Nation, Ora stated that she was “orphaned” by the label. This year, she released the Ed Sheeran-penned comeback single “Your Song”, which peaked at No. 7 on the UK Singles Charts as well as ”Lonely Together” the collaborative track with Avicii, which is currently at No. 5. She is currently preparing for the follow-up to her 2012 debut, which will release later this year.
